A mint and unissued SS-Gebirgstruppe Cap Edelweiss; silvery/grey embroidered flower petals and dual leaves and stem, with seven bulb yellow stamen; on a black wool backer; measuring 70 mm x 48 mm; mint and unissued condition.
Footnote: These Waffen-SS Edelweiss insignia was worn on the side of the Waffen-SS mountain troop M43 caps. Edelweiss flowers traditionally represent bravery and courage in German/Austrian culture.
