A textbook Eastern Campaign medal for the winter of 1941/42; in zink with all of the silvering rubbed off due to age and wear; on a loop for suspension; with its period-original ribbon featuring a bronze horizontal pinback; measuring 36.14 mm in diameter; weighing 24.0 grams with its ribbon. Accompanied by its original packet of issue; embossed “Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42 (Ostmedaille)” on the obverse; embossed with the maker’s mark “Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid” on the reverse; measuring 104 mm x 59 mm; packet extremely wrinkled; medal in near very fine condition.
