An Early Quality Bronze Grade Luftwaffe Reconnaissance Clasp in its Original Case of Issue

An early war operational flight clasp for 20 reconnaissance flights (Frontflugspange für Aufklärer); two-piece construction; clasp in bronzed tombac, with a separately attached blackened/patinated eagle’s head; broad horizontal pinback; unmarked; measuring 76.06 mm x 25.63 mm; weighing 20.8 grams; with the majority of the original bronzing still intact. Accompanied by its original case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper; with a textured black faux leather (leatherette) exterior; embossed “Frontflugspange für Aufklärer - bronze” in golden lettering on the outside of the lid; interior of the lid with an off-white in a velvet liner; with a recessed medal bed; functional push button; nearly perfectly intact interior fabric hinge cover; functional exterior metal hinge; case is mint but overall better than extremely fine condition.
