A 1944 GVI Distinguished Service Cross

George VI, GRI. Silver, date engraved "1944", maker marked "SG" (Sebastian Garrard), hallmarked with the British lion, a leopard's head (made in London) and date marked "G" (1942) on the reverse, 43 mm, original ribbon with pinback, light contact and tarnishing, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, marked "D.S.C." on the lid, maker marked "GARRARD & Co Ltd" on the inside lid, recessed medal bed, case also near extremely fine. (C:3)
