A Kriegsmarine Artillery Kapitänleutnant Tropical Tunic by B. Raws & Co.

Item #G28889

$925
This is an extremely well preserved Kriegsmarine Artillery Kapitänleutnant Tropical Uniform tunic. There is no evidence of any pips having been removed from the shoulder boards, so this tunic would have been attributed to an Ordnance (Artillery) Captain Lieutenant. The tunic features two horizontal-slit breast pockets, as well as two larger horizontal-slit pockets at waist height, all secured by an overreaching flap and gilded aluminum fouled anchor buttons. Five gilded aluminum fouled anchor buttons run vertically along the right-side opening of the tunic, four matching and one replacement, with matching button holes on the opposite sides. The breast eagle, positioned directly above the right breast pocket, is a standard issue machine-woven eagle in golden-yellow threads, with a tan coloured embroidered backer. It appears to be original and machine-attached to the tunic. The shoulder boards consist of grey russian braiding with a pair of gilt alloy rank pips, and a gilt ordnance metal specialization cypher, attached via a screw-down a gilded fouled anchor button, all mounted on a dark green tropical Kriegsmarine wool base. The inside of the tunic is unlined with reinforced armpits and perforated air vents located by the armpits of the uniform. In addition, this tunic features an internal belt keeper, suspended from the armpit reinforcement fabric. It reaches approximately 150 below the armpit and hooks through the uniform via a small reinforced hole. The tunic is marked “B. Raws & Co., Rhede-Westl.” and “43, 43, 96, 71,64” on the right hand inside layer of the tunic. The tunic measures 42 cm from shoulder to shoulder, 77 cm in total length, with a 66 cm long sleve. Overall, this tunic is extremely well preserved with only minor signs of wear, and one mismatched button. Otherwise this tunic is in near extremely fine condition.
