Germany, SA. A Thüringen Garrison Overseas Cap, RZM Tagged

A mint SA (Sturmabteilung/Storm Detachment) Thüringen Garrison Overseas Cap; constructed of beige-brown wool, with fold-down side and back panels with aggressively sloping downward scallops towards the front. The front of the cap features a single large silvered metal (magnetic) button in the centre, with an inverted green (Thüringen district colour) wool triangle on the left side of the cap. The triangle is machine-stitched to the cap using golden-yellow threading, and features an early political silvered aluminum eagle. Both sides of the cap feature brown enamelled rivets functioning as air vents. The interior of the cap is fully lined with a lightly faded green cotton/rayon blended fabric, and features a large RZM tag. The tag is labelled “Dienstmütze” (Service Cap), features a large stamp of the number “56”, with the manufacturer number “000” and the NSDAP RZM number “038145” with large, and easily legible black numbers.274 mm x 110 mm (folded); mint and near mint condition with only very slight discolouration visible around the rim of the interior lining from light use, but without other significant signs of wear.
