An Iron cross 1939 Second Class with attractive patina; silver frame with a matte black eggshell painted magnetic core; on loop for suspension (marked “55” for J.E. Hammer & Söhne, Geringswalde); with its mint and unissued period-original ribbon; measuring 44.20 mm x 44.11 mm; weighing 16.9 grams; attractive patina from age and without significant marks on the paint. Accompanied by its original packet of issue; embossed with “Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse 1939” in black gothic lettering on the obverse, and “J.E. Hammer & Söhne, Geringswalde” on the reverse; measuring 130 mm x 105 mm; near extremely fine condition.
