Footnote: Private James Scott was born on January 26, 1886 in Galashiels Scotland. He signed his Attestation Paper as a Private (730461) with the 111th Infantry Battalion "South Waterloo Battalion", on February 1, 1916 in Galt, Ontario, at the age of 30, naming his next-of-kin as his wife, Sarah Scott of Galt, stating that he had no previous military service, that he was Married and that his trade was that of Spinner. He was later transferred to the 4th Infantry Battalion and survived the war. For his First World War service, he was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
