They show German soldier Karl Labitzke who signed them both, intended as a token of remembrance to either friends or family members. The first picture is dated to Chrudim (eastern Bohemia, Czech Republic) on October 23, 1939 and shows Labitzke as a Gefreiter (Lance Corporal). The second picture is dated to Christmas 1940 and shows Labitzke in the rank of Unteroffizier (NCO).
