A “Verdienstauszeichnung für Angehörige der Ostvölker; 2. Klasse in Gold”; in gilded zink with the majority of the gilding still intact; on loop for suspension (marked “100” for “Rudolf Wächtler & lange); complete with its period-original ribbon with a horizontal pinback attached to the end of the ribbon; measuring 45.48 mm x 39.68 mm; weighing 14.1 grams. Accompanied by its original packet of issue; with “Tapferkeitsauszeichnung für Angehörige der Ostvölker 2. Klasse in Gold” printed in black lettering in the obverse; measuring 116 mm x 78 mm; the award with most of the original gilding worn off, but with traces still remaining, and the paper packet of issue wrinkled; overall near very fine condition.
