Medal in gilded zink; inscribed “Für Arbeit zum schutze Deutschlands/For labour for the protection of Germany” on the reverse; on loop for suspension; with a correct replacement ribbon; measuring 40.97 mm x 33.30 mm; weighing 14.4 grams. Accompanied by its packet of issue; with “Deutsches Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen” printed on the obverse in gothic lettering; maker marked “Carl Poellath, Schrobenhausen” on the reverse; with the majority of the original gilding worn off due to age, but with the packet mint; overall very fine condition.
