A “Deutsches Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen”; in bronzed zink; the obverse with centrally positioned crossed shovel and sword with a concrete bunker below, the german national eagle above, encircled by an oak leaf border; the reverse inscribed “Für Arbeit zum Schutze Deutschlands” (For work in the defence of Germany), within an oak leaf border; on loop for suspension; with its lightly used period-original ribbon; measuring 40.53 mm x 33.02 mm; weighing 15.9 grams. Accompanied by its paper packet of issue with “Deutsches Schutzwallehrenzeichen” printed on the obverse in black gothic script and “E. F. Wiedmann, Frankfurt” printed on the reverse in the same black gothic script; measuring 106 mm x 58 mm; better than very fine condition.
