A Kriegsmarine Hero’s Death Notice of Hermann Stegk

A death notice for a member of the Kriegsmarine, measuring 209x292mm, near mint condition. The certificate states that on January 14, 1943 Oberleutnant (Senior Lieutenant) of the Kriegsmarine Hermann Stegk died a hero’s death. The document is dated to “Im Westen” (in the West) on December 15, 1943, and signed in black ink by Frigate Captain and Flotilla leader of the 2nd U Flotilla “Saltzwedel”, Ernst Kals (1905–1979), a recipient of the Knight’s Cross. The 2nd U Flotilla was stationed in Lorient, Brittany, France.
