The award was issued for 25 years of faithful service. The recipient is Zugschaffner (Train Conductor) Leonhard Ruppel from Wiebelsbach, today a part of Groß-Umstadt, central Germany. The document is dated to Berlin on January 9, 1939, and carries a facsimile of Chief of the Presidential Chancellery of the Führer and the Chancellor, Otto Meissner. The cover letter was sent by the president of the Reich Train Department Mainz, the signature in black ink is difficult to decipher, it could be Meersenburg. It is dated to February 8, 1939.
