A 25 Year Faithful Service Cross with Award Document

A Civil Service Faithful Service Medal in Silver, measuring 41mm, complete with ribbon, measuring 34x46mm, extremely fine condition, the award certificate, measuring 209x296mm, better than very fine condition with cellotape markings, and a cover letter of the same measurements, very fine condition with cellotape markings, minor rips, and age discolouration. The award was issued for 25 years of faithful service. The recipient is Zugschaffner (Train Conductor) Leonhard Ruppel from Wiebelsbach, today a part of Groß-Umstadt, central Germany. The document is dated to Berlin on January 9, 1939, and carries a facsimile of Chief of the Presidential Chancellery of the Führer and the Chancellor, Otto Meissner. The cover letter was sent by the president of the Reich Train Department Mainz, the signature in black ink is difficult to decipher, it could be Meersenburg. It is dated to February 8, 1939.
