This is a very fine grouping of alternative de-nazified replacement versions of several awards, including 1) A Finish Order of the Cross of Liberty, 3rd Class with Swords, 2) A DRL (“DSB”) Sports Badge, 3) A Eastern Winter Campaign Medal, 4) A General Assault Badge, 5) A Black Grade Wound Badge, 6) A Close Combat Clasp, 7) An Iron Cross 1939 First Class, and 8) An Iron Cross 1939 Second Class; all attached to a gilded chain with two needle pins on either side; measuring approximately 124 mm long in total. This grouping is also accompanied by an alternative de-nazified replacement version of a miniature DRL (National Socialist League of the Reich for Physical Exercise/Nationalsozialistischer Reichsbund für Leibesübungen) - (“DSB” - German Sports League/Deutscher Sport Bund) sports badge stick pin; 49 mm long knurled pin; measuring 17 mm x 13 mm; marked “Ges. Gesch.” on the reverse; with a DSB medal ribbon bar with a horizontal pinback and a miniature DSB badge; measuring 24 mm x 12 mm; accompanied by a “DSB” cloth version sports badge; with golden-brown machine embroidery on a black rayon backer; marked “Ges. Gesch.”; measuring 65 mm x 49 mm; overall extremely fine condition. (C: 163)

 

Footnote: In 1957, the Federal Republic of Germany authorized the wear of denazified Second War awards and decorations as those with swastikas were banned (and still are today) for wear or display.
