A First War Cape Breton Highlanders Glengarry Cap

Finely textured, black wool upper, bordered by a red and white checkered pattern in the wool which encompasses it, with a 12 mm wide black leather border along the open end, a 53.5 mm x 65.7 mm two-piece constructed Cape Breton Highlanders Glengarry Badge in white metal and gilt bronze, surmounting a Cape Breton tartan rosette on the left side, the badge held in place via intact lugs and pin, topped by a red toorie, dual black rayon ribbons at the rear, inside is lined in black cotton, label marked size "7" sewn in place at the right rear, the cap measuring 100 mm x 265 mm. It exhibits scattered mothing on checkered band and gilt wear on the glengarry badge on the exterior, lugs and pin holding the badge in place showing green oxidation which has offset on the facing black cotton panel, near extremely fine.
