A circa 1900 fine quality Austrian Order of the Iron Crown (Kaiserlicher Orden der Eisernen Krone); constructed of a gold imperial double headed eagle with a shield on its chest in blue enamels and the letter “F”, with a crown in its talons in multicoloured enamels and with its magnetic interior ring within the crown; the reverse of the eagle with a second shield with “1815” within a bed of blue enamels; on loop for suspension with its period original trifold ribbon; measuring 55.67 mm x 29.29 mm; accompanied by its original case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper with a lightly textured brown faux leather (leatherette) exterior with “Österreichischer Kaiserlicher Orden der Eisernen Krone III Classe embossed in golden lettering on the outside lid; lined interior lid with “Rothe, Kohlmarkt 7, Hof-Goldarbeiter und Juwelier” embossed in golden lettering on the interior lid; recessed medal bed; functional spring catch with stud release with functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 124 mm x 63 mm; extremely fine condition with all enamels extremely well preserved.
