A single SS sleeve diamond belonging to a member of the Security Service of the Reichsführer (“Sicherheitsdienst des Reichsführers); constructed of black wool, with the letters “SD” hand embroidered in twisted silver aluminum bullion on the centre of the tab; standard buckram core; measuring 73 mm x 50 mm; mint and unissued condition.
Footnote: The SS Security Service of the Reichsführer was an intelligence agency during the second war under the command of the SS. It was under the command of Reinhard Heydrichm, considered to be sister organization to the Gestapo, dealing with national security matters within Germany. The organization was declared a criminal organization at the Nuremberg Trials, with the majority of its leaders being convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity after the war.
