A First Class Merit Badge of the 3rd Löwenfeld Marine Brigade

A textbook example of a Bewährungsabzeichen der 3. Marine Brigade von Löwenfeld 1. Klasse; a cross pattée in the form of a Prussian Iron Cross crafted in gilded bronze, with a round wreathed constructed of laurel leaves on the left and oak leaves on the right superimposed on the cross, as well as with a fouled anchor placed centrally. With the date of institution “31. Mai” inscribed on the top arm and the ear year “1920” inscribed on the bottom arm, with “v” standing for “von” and “L” standing for “Löwenfeld”. The reverse marked “Nr. 317. Ges. Gesch. Pk ü. Berlin C. 19, Seydelstraße 19A” ; vertical pinback with a barrel hinge and a round wire catch; measuring 41.02 mm x 40.93 mm; very fine condition.
