Germany, Heer. A Bronze Grade Close Combat Clasp, by Steinhauer & Lück

A second war German “Nahkampfspange”; in bronzed zink; the obverse with a national eagle and a bayonet and hand grenade in the centerpiece, with sun rays emanating from the centre of the left and right sides, and with four oak leaves and two acorns on each side; the reverse plain, with a square non-magnetic backing plate; horizontal pinback with a barrel hinge and a flat wire catch on the reverse; unmarked, but displaying typical characteristics of “Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid” manufacture; measuring 97.04 mm x 25.32 mm; weighing 29.2 grams; better than very fine condition.
