Footnote: Wilhelm Eitel Friedrich Christian Karl of Prussia (1883–1942) was the second son of Emperor Wilhelm II. During the First War, he was an officer, eventually in the rank of Major General, who was awarded both classes of the Iron Cross, as well as the Pour le Mérite with Oak Leaves. After the war, he became a member of the “Stahlhelm” Front Soldier League. However, he was always opposed to Hitler. Upon his death in 1942, he was refused a military funeral.
