A “Eisernes Kreuz 1914 1. Klasse”; white metal cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a white metal ribbed border; the obverse with a raised central “W” and “1914” in raised numbering on the lower arm, as well as the royal crown on the upper arm; the reverse plain, with the engraving “Vor Reims, Okt. 1914. H.W”; curved; measuring 41.91 mm x 42.36 mm; weighing 1838 grams; better than very fine condition.
