Russia (Imperial): Black and white, faded to a sepia-toned look, obverse illustrating a standing Russian soldier in uniform and wearing a traditional soldier's cap bearing a cap badge on the front, wearing an award on his left breast, a long strap fed through the right shoulder strap and joined to a belt around his waist, with a sword attached and dangling from his left hip, his right hand resting on his right hip, his left hand resting upon the handle of the sword, with tall leather boots on his feet, a garden setting backdrop behind him, measuring 100 mm x 140 mm and mounted to a gray panelled card with the Moscow-based photographer's stamp in gold-coloured ink below, reverse with the Moscow-based studio photographer's mark in brown ink on a white field, 106 mm x 162 mm, lightly soiled, better than very fine.
