A document, measuring 205x148mm, near extremely fine condition with folding crease and light discolouration. It is a list of assets of Grenadier Alfred Paulfeuerborn, recently KIA: sports trousers, shoe cleaning utensils, toothbrush with case, dip pen, tooth paste, lock, razor blades, comb, pen case, photo, book, letters and writing paper. The document carries a typewritten signature by Senior Lieutenant and Company Leader Wind, as well as a signature in pencil by Hauptfeldwebel (First Sergeant) Schmidt. Dated to October 2, 1944.
Footnote: Alfred Paulfeuerborn was a member of the Grenadier Regiment 1074, part of Grenadier Division 541. This division was deployed to the Eastern Front in August 1944 to support the retreating Army Group Central against the Soviet summer offensive. It fought at Narev in Poland, presumably where Paulfeuerborn died, and was then forced into the East Prussian Pocket until the end of the war.
