(Socialist Republic).: Three-piece construction, silver gilt with red enamels, hallmarked and maker marked "IKOM" on the reverse of both the eight-pointed star base and the centrepiece ring, 65.2 mm x 65.7 mm, vertical pinback, intact enamels, green oxidation spot evident in the silvered area on the shield beside the top tip of the red star, light contact, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, marked "Orden za vojne zasluge sa srebrnim mačevima" (Order of MilitaryMerit with Silver Swords) on the lid, slotted medal bed, light edge wear evident on the exterior, case better than very fine.


Footnote: The order was established on January 1, 1952 and awarded to commanding officers, who in times of peace, achieved success in the executions of their tasks in the unit they command or of military institutions, along with being awarded to the civilians who achieve results of significance for national defence. It may also be awarded to foreign military persons. It was awarded 94,684 times.
