Fabricated from olive green cotton, with four large gray metal buttons on the fly, two gray plastic buttons along with an integral khaki-green webbed cotton belt on the right side facing a light brown finished metal buckle with three prongs on the left side, ensuring a secure fit at the waist, with a belt loop sewn in place to the left of the buckle. It has four pockets: deep side-entry pockets on both sides at the front, each of which is white cotton-lined; a small olive green cotton-lined pocket to the right of the fly; and a deep white cotton-lined pocket on the right rear seat with a large gray metal button and reinforced button hole. There is a silvered magnetic ring sewn in place above the small pocket at the waistline on the front. The waist area is lined with a 70 mm wide white cotton panel, which is stamped at the front on the right side "70" and "84" above "102" and "98", production coded "RBNr.0/0780/0019" and date coded "M43" (1943), with short white cotton straps with snap closures on either side at the front, plus a white cotton loop sewn in place at the rear for hanging the shorts on a hook, the shorts measuring 420 mm in width x 550 mm in length.
