Black and white photograph, faded to a sepia-toned look, obverse illustrating a seated Japanese Army officer in full dress uniform, in a studio setting, holding his kepi in his right hand, a downward-pointing sword resting against his left side, wearing the Order of the Rising Sun 4th Class Officer's badge on his left breast, the photo measuring 100 mm x 154 mm and mounted to a 104 mm x 162 mm thick card with rounded corners, reverse of the card is black with a photographer's studio identification, inscribed "L. Suzuki Photographer Kudanzaka Tokio and Masagocho Yokohama JAPAN." in gold-coloured ink, light contact, near extremely fine.
