This is a textbook Wehrmacht Heer (Army) EM/NCO’s service belt buckle; constructed of steel with its traditional olive-drab paint with a matte finish; the obverse with a circular rope, with a lower half of the circle filled with an oak leaf wreath, and the other half inscribed “Gott Mit Uns” (God with Us), with a smaller circular rope, with a raised lightly textured field and a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika in its talons; the reverse maker marked “R.S. & S.” but otherwise plain; measuring 63 mm x 47 mm; accompanied by its original leather belt tab; constructed of of butterscotch coloured leather; embossed “1940” and “R. Sieper & Söhne, Lüdenscheid” on the obverse; 95% of its original finish remaining: appears unworn, but with slight loss to the finish on the breast of the eagle due to storage; overall better than extremely fine condition.
