This is a textbook Wehrmacht Heer (Army) EM/NCO’s service belt buckle; constructed of steel with its traditional olive-drab paint with a matte finish; the obverse with a circular rope, with a lower half of the circle filled with an oak leaf wreath, and the other half inscribed “Gott Mit Uns” (God with Us), with a smaller circular rope, with a raised lightly textured field and a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika in its talons; the reverse maker marked “R.S. & S.” but otherwise plain; measuring 62 mm x 48 mm; accompanied by its original leather belt tab; constructed of of butterscotch coloured leather; embossed “1941” and “R. Sieper & Söhne, Lüdenscheid” on the obverse; with the majority of its original paint finish rubbed off due to wear; in overall near very fine condition.
