A Iron Cross 1914 First Class

An “Eisernes Kreuz 1914 1. Klasse”; silver cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a brass core (nonmagnetic) within a white metal ribbed border; the obverse with a raised central “W” with the re-institution date “1914” in raised numbering on the lower arm and the royal crown on the upper arm; the reverse plain, with a tapered pinback, a sheet metal hinge, and a flat wire catch; measuring 43.78 mm x 43.71 mm; weighing 15.8 grams; with some wear to the black paint on the obverse, revealing the brass underneath; overall very fine condition.
