A second war German grouping, consisting of an Iron Cross 1939 Second Class and a Commemorative Westwall medal, with a matching medal ribbon bar and a matching medal boutonniere. 1) The Iron Cross 1939 Second Class “Eisernes Kreuz 1939 2. Klasse”; white metal cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a white metal ribbed border; on loop for suspension; with its period original ribbon; the obverse with a raised central mobile swastika with the re-institution date “1939” in raised numbering on the lower arm; the reverse with the original institution date “1813” in raised numbering on the lower arm; measuring 45.21 mm x 45.23 mm; weighing 23.9 grams. 2) The Westwall Commemorative medal “Deutsches Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen”; oval bronze; on a loop for suspension; with its period original ribbon; the obverse with a crossed shovel and sword in the centre, and a concrete pillbox/bunker directly below, as well as with the German national eagle above, all within an oak leaf wreath; the reverse inscribed “Für Arbeit zum schutze Deutschlands” (For labour for the protection of Germany) within an oak wreath; measuring 46.00 mm x 33.43 mm; weighing 18.7 grams. Accompanied by its matching medal ribbon bar with two ribbons; metal core (magnetic); horizontal pinback; measuring 30 mm x 18 mm, and its matching boutonniere; with two ribbons attached to a bakelite button; measuring 29 mm x 15 mm. Overall better than very fine condition.
