Footnote: David Robertson was born in 1857. He was awarded the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long Service Medal by G.O. 37 in 1903, but the Pallas reference book shows him in the 33rd Regiment. However, the Militia List of 1890 shows him as that rank in the 32nd “Bruce” Battalion of Infantry, No. 7 Company, Mildmay. The Militia List shows him as retired on May 11, 1893 in the 32nd Regiment. Robertson died in 1949.
