A First War 207th Infantry Battalion "Ottawa and Carleton Overseas Battalion" Cap Badge

Canada: Browning brass, voided, unmarked but known to have been manufactured by Birks, 31.8 mm x 43 mm, both lugs have been replaced, very fine.

Footnote: The 207th Infantry Battalion was raised in the county of Carleton, Ontario with mobilization headquarters at Ottawa under the authority of G.O. 69, July 15, 1916. The Battalion sailed June 2, 1917 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel C.W. McLean with a strength of 27 officers and 652 other ranks. In England, the Battalion was absorbed into the 7th Reserve Battalion. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
