A textbook example of an early war manufacture “Nahrnachtjäger” close combat night time fighter squadron clasp; in gilded and blackened tombac; the obverse with a blackened central laurel wreath with an upward pointing winged arrow in the centre, a static swastika on the bottom of the wreath, with nine oak leaves on either side of the wreath; horizontal slender banjo style pinback with a factory bent tip, with a barrel hinge and a round wire catch; unmarked; measuring 17.5 grams; measuring 76.06 mm x 25.72 mm; weighing 17.5 grams; with nearly all of its original gilt remaining; in overall near mint condition.
