A Second War German Luftwaffe Fallschirmjäger Badge

A mid-war example of a Luftwaffe Paratrooper badge; two-piece construction; in silvered and gilded zink - but with nearly all its finish worn off; the obverse consisting of a wreath comprised of laurel and oak leaves, with a diving eagle superimposed in the centre of the badge clutching a mobile swastika in its talons; vertical needle style pinback, with a barrel hinge and a round wire catch; measuring 53.89 mm x 43.04 mm; with some gilt still remaining on the eagle; weighing 30.6 grams; better than fine condition.
