A Mint Wehrmacht Heer (Army) Pioneer Enlisted Man’s Overseas Side Cap

This is an example of an excellently preserved Wehrmacht Heer (Army) Pioneer EM’s overseas side cap, constructed of field-grey wool, with fold-down side and back panels with gently sloping downward scallops toward the front and sides. The crown and frontward facing sides feature a textbook Wehrmacht cap eagle, constructed of grey and field grey BeVo style machine embroidery. Directly beneath it is a black machine woven soutache (signifying pioneer troops) with a tri-colour cockade within it. All insignia are machine stitched to the cap and appear to be original to this cap. The interior of the cap is fully lined with a well preserved olive-drab coloured rayon blended fabric, without a sweatband, or markings of any kind. The cap measures 285 mm x 113 mm (folded) and appears unworn. In overall mint condition.
