A certificate, measuring 140x199mm, extremely fine condition with light scuffing, light discolouration, and folding crease. It states that Unteroffizier (NCO) Ernst Lange of the 2nd Company of Grenadier Regiment 943 has been wounded on September 23, 1944 and received a Wound Badge in Black. The document is dated to Straubing (Bavaria) on October 4, 1944 and signed by the Oberfeldarzt and Chief Medical Officer of Reserve Military Hospital Straubing, his name is indecipherable.

Footnote: Grenadier Regiment 943 was established in December of 1943 in Brittany, France. When the Allied Forces landed in Normandy, the regiment was deployed there to help repel the enemy. It then had to retreat to Germany and suffered heavy losses on the way. Lange was most likely injured during this retreat.
