A mid-war example of a German “Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen”; oval silvered feinzink; with an oak leaf border and a pair of acorns at the base, with a large Wehrmacht-style eagle with folded wings clutching a mobile swastika in its talons, and a crossed bayonet and stick grenade in the centre; the reverse plain, with a riveted barrel hinge and a riveted round wire catch; unmarked; measuring 51.12 mm x 42.72 mm; weighing 29.8 grams; with approximately 40% of the original silver finish remaining; in overall very fine condition.
