Footnote: C.S. Headley enlisted with the Royal Flying Corps as a 3rd Class Air Mechanic (22925) for the duration of the war, on February 17, 1916. He later achieved the rank of 2nd Class Air Mechanic, his trade as Rigger (Aero.) and his pay documented as two shillings. The Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service merged to form the Royal Air Force on April 1, 1918, with Headley surviving the war.
