An “Eisernes Kreuz 1939 1. Klasse”; white metal cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a white metal ribbed border; the obverse with a raised central mobile swastika with the re-institution date “1939” in raised numbering on the lower arm; the reverse plain, with a vertical slender banjo style pinback, a barrel hinge, and a round wire catch; vaulted; unmarked; measuring 44.13 mm x 44.16 mm; weighing 20.8 grams. Accompanied by a case; constructed of heavy pressed paper; with a smooth black faux leather (leatherette) exterior with an Iron Cross First Class embossed in silver on the outside of the lid; lined interior lid; slotted medal bed; functional spring catch with stud release; severed interior fabric hinge cover; functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 70 mm x 69 mm; better than very fine condition.
