A fine quality example of a Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria by Anton Reitterer. The base of the award an eight-pointed star in the shape of sun rays in silver, with a center applique in bronze gilt, depicting the Austrian national eagle with the crest of Austria on its chest, with the nine provincial coat of arms in multi-coloured enamels. The reverse is plain, with a plain center applique maker marked “Anton Reitterer, Juwelier, Wien IX, Schubertring 24”, with a vertical pinback, a barrel hinge, and a flat wire catch, marked “900” for silver content, and “A. R.” for “Anton Reitterer”. It measures 98.32 mm x 97.57 mm, weighing 120 grams; with light patina from age; in overall extremely fine condition.
