Germany, Heer. A Silver Grade Tank Badge

A second war German “Panzerkampfabzeichen”; oval shaped silvered zink; the obverse with a border of oak leaves with a tie at the base and a Panzerkampfwagen IV superimposed in the center on grassy ground, with the left tank track extending over the edge of the badge; the reverse plain with a vertical needle style pin, sheet metal hinge, and a round wire catch (the catch is bent, not allowing the badge to open); measuring 59.52 mm x 41.81 mm; weighing 26.1 grams; with all of its original silver finish worn off due to age and wear, but with enough silver finish remaining to positively identify this badge as a silver grade example; fine condition.
