A textbook example of an EM/NCO’s standard issue belt buckle; stamped nickel-silver; the obverse with a standard SS motif consisting of a national eagle with spread wings, clutching a static swastika in its talons, and the SS motto “Meine Ehre heißt Treue” in raised lettering surrounding the wreathed swastika between two ropes; the reverse with standard double-claw prongs and a soldered-on catch; maker marked “Overhoff & Cie, Lüdenscheid, Ges. Gesch.” on the reverse - note that “Overhoff & Cie was scratched out, but “Cie” is still clearly legible; measuring 63 mm x 46 mm; in extremely fine condition.
