Klasse ohne Schwerter; maltese cross in bronzed tombak; on loop for suspension (unmarked); with a shortened period original ribbon with small holes from previous attachment via a safety pin; the obverse pebbled, with a circular raised border of oak leaves on the obverse with a raised mobile swastika in the center; the reverse with a circular raised border of oak leaves bearing the institution date “1939” in raised numbering; measuring 47.89 mm x 48.44 mm; weighing 19.0 grams; accompanied by its boutonniere, consisting of a narrow tied ribbon sewn onto a black bakelite button; with its paper packet of issue, with “Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse ohne Schwerter” printed in black gothic lettering on the obverse, with the maker’s stamp on the reverse cut out; measuring 128 mm x 104 mm; extremely fine condition.
