A second war German “Nahkampfspange”; in gilded vaulted zink; the obverse with a national eagle and a bayonet and hand grenade in the centerpiece, with sun rays emanating from the centre of the left and right sides, and with four oak leaves and two acorns on each side; the reverse plain, with a square magnetic backing plate; horizontal pinback with a barrel hinge and a flat wire catch on the reverse; maker marked “FLL” for “Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid” on the reverse; measuring 96.18 mm x 25.88 mm; weighing 36.8 grams; with most of its original golden finish worn off, but with enough remaining to positively identify this piece as a gold grade Close Combat Clasp; in overall better than fine condition.
