Measuring 240x316mm, better than fine condition with some fraying and scuffing, a folding crease, several minor rips, two punched holes, a water stain, discolouration, and one minor hole in the text. The poster states that October 1, 1916 will be a “Day of Sacrifice” (Opfertag) for the German Fleet. All Germans are asked to give donations to further support of the German Navy. The “Day of Sacrifice” is organised by the Deutscher Flotten-Verein (German Fleet Association), the Flottenbund Deutscher Frauen (Fleet League of German Women), and the Deutsche Marinevereine (German Navy Associations). The fruit of their efforts will be pooled and then distributed by the Zentralstelle für freiwillige Gaben an die Marine (Central Office for Voluntary Donations to the Navy), led by Grand Admiral Hans von Koester, a recipient of the Order of the Black Eagle with Chain and Diamonds.
