A Narvik Schild; constructed of stamped gilt feinzink; the shield featuring national eagle with swooped down wings, clutching a wreathed swastika; inscribed “Narvik” in capital letters, with an Edelweiss flower (representing the Heer) in the center between the date “1940” and a crossed anchor (representing the Kriegsmarine) and propeller (representing the Luftwaffe) on the obverse; three of its four prongs intact on the reverse; unmarked; measuring 90 mm x 40 mm; with approximately 20% of its original gilt remaining; in overall fine condition.
