Egypt; Multi-piece construction, Gold with red, white, blue and green enamelled insignia, mounted to a five-pointed silver star base, marked with the assay city and Gold standard, marked with the iconic national Egyptian bird (the ibis) symbol for Gold and date marked "I' (1934-1935) on the reverse of the star point at 7 o'clock, marked with the assay city and silver standard, marked with the national cat symbol for silver and date marked "I" (1934-1935) on the reverse of the arm at 1 o'clock, marked with the assay city and silver standard and date marked "I" (1934-1935) on the reverse cartouche, 63.5 mm (w) x 87 mm (h) inclusive of its wreath suspension, original full-length neck ribbon, intact enamels, extremely fine. 

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
