"A completely untouched example of a 1914-1918 issue Saxony Civil Service Order Knight’s Cross Second Class with Swords (Zivil-Verdienstorden Ritterkreuz II Klasse mit Schwertern); a silver white enameled Maltese cross with silver gilt crossed swords between the arms of the cross; the obverse with a white enameled center medallion bearing a crowned Saxon coat of arms, surrounded by a white enameled ring, inscribed “Fried. Aug. K. V. Sachsen. D. 7. Juni 1815” (Friedrich August König von Sachsen den 7. Juni 1815) in gilt lettering; the reverse with a central white enameled medallion, inscribed “Für Verdienst und Treue” (German - For Service and Loyalty) within a green enameled oak wreath bearing fruit; on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon (bearing a collector’s tag); measuring 34.66 mm x 35.07 mm; weighing 17.7 grams; an untouched example without cracks or flaking in the enamels; in virtually mint condition.
