This is a mint and unissued German silver grade tank badge “Panzerkampfabzeichen”; oval shaped silvered feinzink; the obverse with a border of oak leaves with a tie at the base and a Panzerkampfwagen IV superimposed in the centre on grassy ground, with the left tank track extending over the edge of the badge; the reverse plain with a vertical needle style pin, a crimped sheet metal hinge, and a crimped round wire catch; measuring 41.69 mm x 60.09 mm; weighing 29.5 grams; with its original cardboard box and paper wrappings; measuring 54 mm x 78 mm; also accompanied by its original cardboard shipment box; with a paper label reading “Militäreffekten Metallwarenfabrik Hermann Aurich, Dresden A 16, 50 Stück Panzerkampfabzeichen glanzverzinkt” glued on the exterior of the box; measuring 68 mm x 358 mm; in overall mint and unissued condition; a rare set.
